A place to DISCOVER the world around us,
to ENGAGE bodies, minds and hearts,
and to IGNITE a life-long love of learning.
DISCOVER
The environment and activities stimulate communication, invite questions, encourage investigation and promote exploration.
ENGAGE
The children are engaged through story, movement, music, play, hands-on activities, drama and creativity.
IGNITE
The goal of the program is to inspire a love of learning in children that will become an amazing foundation for the rest of their lives.
CONNECT
Connect Pre-Kindergarten focuses on the healthy development of the whole child – social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. Children in the program develop holistically through active participation in individual, small group and whole group activities.
The program also strives to make connections from school to home through consistent communication, learning extensions, take-home literacy and STEM kits, parent involvement and family nights.
CURRICULUM
The program draws from and balances several different early childhood learning theories (Reggio, Montessori, play-based, academic), taking the best aspects of each of these teaching approaches and incorporating them into a variety of learning experiences. The goal is to provide both structure and free-choice through child initiated play as well as teacher-directed activities.
At Connect Pre-Kindergarten, your child will learn and grow in the following areas:
Literacy and Pre-Reading Skills
Writing
Math
Social Skills
Science
Art
Music

Fine Motor Skills
Outside organizations and special guests are often incorporated into the monthly learning theme. Some of these include: Let’s Talk Speech and Language Services, Kindermusik, Moose Jaw Public Library, Happy Feet, Burrowing Owls, The Saskatchewan Reptile Show and the Moose Jaw City Police.

Meet the Teacher
Miss Abby has a passion for children and for music and she uses those skills on a daily basis in Connect Pre-K. After working as the EA last year she is excited to continue on as the Pre-School Director and Teacher this year.
Abigail Miller was born and raised in Toronto ON. She moved west for school, persuing a degree in performance voice at Briercrest College, and stayed because she fell in love. She and her husband have 2 beautiful and precocious daughters. After 5 years of teaching music privately at Briercrest, Abby decided to combine her two passions of children and music to train with Kindermusik International and open her own early childhood music program. She has been teaching in the field of early childhood for 5 years and brings this level of experience and expertise to Pre-K.
